Cats really have a mind of their own. Oreo likes to scratch people when she thinks she's in trouble or lately when I've been spraying her hot spot with medication. Oreo and S'mores got flea collars and I guess Oreo was trying to scratch at it. She has this hot spot now and she won't stop scratching at it. Hoping that the hot spot medication will help out - if not, I'll have to get a cone for her. I wonder if this book has any tips on how to discipline or deal with a cat who constantly feels attacked I guess. Otherwise, I wonder why her first defense is always to hiss and scratch at us.

Would love to win this book so it can shine lots of knowledge onto me! 🙂

You're right Anita, cats really do have minds of their own. All 8 of mine are individuals Anita, and have very different purrsonsalities. Some are more tolerant than others about what's going on with/around them. I'm sorry, I've no idea howhat to stop the scratching and hissing.

Fingers crossed that you win the book.

Rose.

Thanks Rose! <3

I had another good idea regarding a different forum topic that can maybe get some of us to start chatting a bit more 😉

There's a topic posted 4 months ago by a different moderator called "How to deal with bad behavior". No one has posted under this topic though. But, I was thinking, what if we created a topic where people can post freely regarding any issues they're having with their cats - be it behavior, appetite, how to introduce cats, etc. This way those of us who see the posts, if we have experience in any of those areas, we can openly contribute. What do you think about that?

Of course, we'll probably need to borrow yours or Si's creativity to come up with a topic name 🙂

Good Morning Everyone~

Hope you all had a nice weekend 🙂 Today is the last day to earn extra entries for this purrrfect giveaway! Would love to receive a book filled with kitty knowledge to better understand my girls. They do get pretty bratty sometimes 😛 Although, if I were a cat, I'd probably be bratty too. I mean after all, you're not really a cat if you're not finding a way to be spoiled rotten 😂 😂 😂

Anyways, good luck!! 🙂

Hi Anita,

I meant to tell you about that behaviour post. I think the cats issues thread is a great idea. Will think about a name, and ask Si too (it's good for him to think of other things at the moment).

Good luck with winning the book! 😃

Rose.

Glad to see you back, Rose. Is everything OK with Si's dad and Cookie? :-/

Hopefully you both will come up with a nice thread name for cat behaviors! I'll try to think of some too - though, I'm not as creative hehe.

Good luck to you as well! 🙂

Thanks Anita. Cookie is doing well thanks. Apart from the weight loss, she's not showing any signs of illness. Although she has lost her confidense weirdly. She's always been the alpha female, having some dominance over the rest of the cats. She's now almost timid around them. Also, she's one of the cats with outdoor access, but she's not going out as much. When she does, she usually stays in our garden.

Si's Dad is sadly very poorly. He's now confined to bed, as he can't feel enough in his leg to walk safely. They have been provided with a hospital bed, which is in their living room. Sadly he's having problems swallowing now too. So they blend his food up to help get over that problem. It's heartbreaking for me hearing how he worsens, I can't imagine the pain Si, his mum and his brother and sister must be going through. As well as their husband and wife. It's a very close family. In a way I'm lucky not to see it, but I really do need to see him. I just need my wound to heal a bit better!

Haven't come up with a name yet, sorry. Will keep working on it.

Rose.

Rose, I'm sorry to hear about both Cookie and Si's Dad ... I'm sure neither is an easy situation. I wish there was more I could do to help.

It's been a rough few days I think for a lot of people. My neighbor is going through some financial issues right now and our complex has asked him to move out today and now he has nowhere to go 🙁 He's 62 I think and I just can't stand thinking about him living in his car until he figures something out 🙁 🙁 *sigh*

Anita, you've helped so much just being here for me to express what's happening. I really appreciate both you and Crystal for being so supportive.

That's so sad about your neighbour (UK spelling, not misspelled haha) 🙁 We have quite a good social security system over here, although many people abuse it, and take it for granted. Firstly there are laws protecting tenants, so landlords have to go through a lot of procedures to evict a tenant. Someone in financial difficulty may be entitled to help or even full payment of their rent. Depending on their work situation, they may be entitled to other benefits. People who are evicted from their homes, can go to the council, and most are entitled to be rehoused.  Only the council has a shortage of housing, so might put them in a bed a breakfast, or rehouse them in a different County. We're very lucky really. Same goes with our NHS, giving us all free gp and hospital treatment. People here moan about the NHS, but I think it's fantastic. Sorry, I seem to have gone off the initial subject. I hope your neighbour will be OK.

Take care ladies.

Rose.

Hi Anita, we've thought of a couple of names. I'm not as confident about these as I was about Le Chat, but I thought I'd see what you thought .......

'Beastly Behaviour' 'Bratty Catty' 'Is your cat feline naughty?'

Let me know what you think?

Rose.

Hi Rose,

I like the play on word in your 3rd suggestion hehe. It reminds me of this tank top I have that might make a good name for the forum topic too ... and I also thought of a couple of others.

1. Are You Kitten Me Right Meow?
2. You've Cat to be Kitten Me Right Meow
3. Cattitudes
4. What's Your Cattitude?

What do you think? 🙂

Hi Anita,

Sorry for the delay in my response. The 3rd of my options was my fave too - it was Si's suggestion. Love your suggestions too. I'm happy to go with whatever your preference is. 😀

Rose.
