Hi Marc/Medran,

Would it be possible to set up a general chatting area? An area open to all forum members to go to chat to each other about anything they wish to, and get to know each other.

You've probably noticed Anita, Crystal and myself doing this on the Pusheen giveaway area, but I thought a specific general chat area might be good. What do you think?

Hey Rose,

Sure that's no problem at all! 🙂

And apologies for the late reply it's been a few mad weeks.

Would you like a completely separate forum or just a thread? Also we are looking for some more volunteer forum moderators to help build a bigger community if either one of you is interested? 😀

Thanks,

Marc

I thought a thread would be OK - what do you think? Tbh this is the only forum I visit regularly, so don't know a great deal about them.

What would be involved in being a moderator? I like the sound of helping to build a bigger community. 😃

Oh, could you possibly announce the winner of the Pusheen giveaway when you get chance? My 2 forum friends and I have been looking out for the winner to be announced.

Rose.

Marc,

I also like the idea of becoming a forum moderator! That sounds like an awesome opportunity! Like Rose, this is the only forum I visit regularly and know little about being a moderator. But I'm sure with a few suggestions, we will be able to be pointed into the right direction 🙂 Rose, what do you think?!

I'm sure you're right Anita, we'd soon pick it up once we've been pointed in the right direction. Would be an awesome opportunity. Cats are my favourite subject after all - I really am a crazy cat lady! I even have cattoos  (cat tattoos) lol! 😉

That's awesome, Rose! I have 3 tattoos and they're all cat related as well 😀 I have kitty paw prints running up my entire left side, "meow" with a paw print on my right side, and I have a Hello Kitty bow on my left hip hehe. How many cattoos do you have? Are they related to any of your 9 babies? 🙂

Yours cattoos sound cool Anita. 😃 I have a bastet inspired piece on my inner left arm, a samara cat on my top left arm, and I have a full arm piece on my right arm, which has 3 cat pieces in it, 2 of which are Japanese themed and the third has Tika's head coming out of a flower. I hadn't intended to use any of my cats in my cattoos,  because of having so many cats. My tattoo artist came up with the idea of using Tika, and I'm so glad he did now that Tika has passed. It's lovely to look at my arm and see him. ❤ I also have a feather on my lower neck, which has a small amount of my Dad's cremation ashes in the ink. So I always have a bit of him with me. I have a dragonfly on my lower back, and 2 more rubbish ones that I'll eventually get covered up.

Rose, your cattoos sound pretty cool too! I would love to see the tattoo with Tika on it! Also, I never knew you could have small amounts of cremation in tattoo ink, that's amazing that a part of your Dad will always be with you <3 That seriously brought such a big smile to my face 🙂

The arm piece with Tika on is still a work in progress. You can see where Tika is pretty much done though, just needs a bit more detail adding to him. I'll get Si to take some pics to share with you.

Some tattoo artists won't use the Ashes,  I think it creeps them out. But as my artist said, the heat the Ashes get to means they're perfectly sterilised. They have to be careful and only use a tiny amount, because of it thickening the ink up. That may be another reason some artists won't use it, perhaps not skilled enough to use thicker ink. On the same day I got my memorial for Dad tattoo, my Mum came with me, and had her first tattoo at the age of 65! They usually only allow the person being tattooed into the studio, but that time they allowed us in together. We were both having the same artist, so they got mine done first, so Mum could see what happens. She had Dad's ashes too of course, in a rose on her wrist that has both their names with it. 😃

Oh I can't wait to see the piece! 🙂

That's so sweet that your mom got one too with his ashes! Aww you're going to make me cry at work! Would you be willing to take a picture of her rose too so I can see? Hehe. Was she afraid to get her tattoo? Has she gotten any more since? That's awesome to know that there are tattoo artists that do that even if not many! Do they charge more for working with thicker ink because of it, or do they know how much to use so as not to thicken it up?

Sorry, I forgot to get the photo last night. My memory is terrible! Mum would love me to show you her rose, she's very proud of it. She's visiting on Thurs, so I'll try to remember then. She was a little nervous before getting her tattoo. She said it helped a lot seeing me get mine done, as I sit well generally when tattooed. Also, she has mild cerebral palsy, and she had the rose on the arm affected by the cerebral palsy (so she could wash it well with her 'good hand'). This arm doesn't have a great deal of feeling unless her muscles are in spasm. She has had another 2 pieces since, both again memorials. One is a shoulder piece with birds, and the writing "your wings were ready, but my heart was not". The last piece was a design she and the artist did of a dove, but I can't remember the details 😶 I'm pretty sure she said she used some of Dad''s ashes in both of those. They charged their usual rate, which I thought was lovely of them. We expected to pay more. They only use a tiny amount, so the ink doesn't become too thick. He just judged it my sprinkling a little in and stirring, adding a bit more if he could. He was really respectful handling the Ashes too. We only took a small amount with us, and he gave us back what wasn't used.

Last Christmas I gave my Mum a build-a-bear voucher. This was because since Dad passed, she's had a teddy in bed with her. I thought she'd like to get a bear made with Dad's ashes, so it meant more when she cuddled it. That's what she's done, added some ashes to its stuffing. She's also named it after my Dad. ❤

Rose.

Aww that's too sweet!!! I love it! I'm sure that brings your Mom a lot of peace in mind knowing that she's still so close to him 🙂 Love the idea with the Build-a-Bear too! I've never thought of adding anything inside besides what they offer at the store hehe.

Do you have the girls' Instagram account? Their name on there is Smoreography - added a couple of new pictures yesterday! Still trying to get around to the WordPress post .. been so busy 🙁

Hi Marc,

I would love to become a forum moderator too! Where/how can I start? 🙂

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I think this general discussion area will probably actually be fine for being a general discussion area. 🙂

Also I am pleased to announce that I've upgraded both of you to forum moderators. This should theoretically allow you guys to access  http://forum.katzenworld.uk/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpforo-community

Which contains extra options such as removing a user, disallowing a comment or creating new sub forums.

The whole forum bit is still quite new for me as well so if you get stuck I'll try and figure it out!

And of course please feel free to invite all your friends to join us. The more cat lovers we can unite here the better! 😀

Thanks,

Marc

Awesome!!! Thanks Marc! 🙂

I've checked out the link you provided, and I see that it's linked to WordPress. Will this allow us to link it to our WordPress and post on behalf of Katzenworld Forum via WordPress? There aren't many options to do much after I clicked the link. Or is that strictly for forum posts like Rose, Crystal and I have been making?

Thank you! =^.^=
