No problem Anita about the manuscript that is. Just send it when you get the chance. Glad you like the colors of the shed. All that needs to be done now is get it delivered and put in its place. Also get the stuff back in it too. I'm excited about this shed. I really like it. Just updated my one post called Our Night Time Visitor with pictures where the bear laid on  https://wordpress.com/posts/crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com

I'll now take Rose and Anita's lead and introduce myself and I'll introduce my cat as well. My name is Crystal and I just love cats and I love most animals. I have started what I call a progressive writing project about 2 of my cats. Both parts have been posted on different dates so I will give you the links so you won't have to scroll and scroll. Both parts are on my main website  http://daisymae2017.wordpress.com     Here is the permalink for part 1:

TIGGER AND DAISY MAE: PART 1

and the permalink for part 2 is:

DAISY MAE’S KITTYHOOD: PART 2

Once again I love cats. I'm attaching a couple of pictures of my cat, Daisy Mae.

Hi Anita, Crystal and everybody else.

Sorry for my prolonged absence, things have been a bit emotional. Si's dad's funeral is on Thursday of this week, which is quite daunting. Cookie looks and feels as if she's losing weight, despite eating really well. The nodules the vet found are definitely lumps, which are growing. I try to check her every so often in case they ulcerate, but she really hates any part of her tummy or chest touched, so don't want to upset by checking too often. She has the most adorable tummy, with gorgeous curly fur that draws you in. But approach at your own risk! Lol ?, you might just loose a finger! ? She's not showing any signs of pain or discomfort at all, which is great.

I enjoyed reading your photography tips Anita, thanks for those. I've seen one of the devices online, that clips into your phone/camera to hold toys/ treats to get your pets attention. My worry with my kitties is I'd just have loads of real close ups, where they've tried to retrieve the toy/treat ?

Your dad's new shed looks lovely Crystal. Has it been installed yet? Great to see your lovely introduction to yourself on here too. ? Also glad to hear your Mom's leg is doing better too.

I meant to ask you Anita, what did you do for Josh's birthday in the end?

Chat soon.

Rose.

Hi Rose,

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about those phone attachment treat things either ... haha. A lot of times it just takes multiple tries! Sometimes my girls will be at the perfect position/angle whatever, and as soon as I snap the photo they'll move and the pictures look ridiculously funny haha. I'm glad that Cookie sounds to be doing better though! Has she been back to the vet since the last time we spoke?

So ... Josh's mom was so nice and got both of us Disneyland Annual Passes! Mine was a belated birthday gift (my bday was in March)~ We still have to pay for parking when we go unless we utilize the free 2 hour parking in Downtown Disney which surprisingly, sometimes is enough time for us to get on 1~2 rides and still get out before 2 hours! We're trying to save up money right now so that we can upgrade one of our passes to the next level up which includes parking but it's $230! I mean, it would be worth it if we went more than like 12 or 13 times within the next year which is completely doable since we live about 20-30 minutes away.

Take Care!

~ Anita

Rose, Sorry you had a rough week. The shed was just installed. It's so roomy and built better than the last one. Dad and I started putting stuff into his new shed. I took pictures after it was installed. Good news- Mom's one leg is healed and the other leg is getting better. I know when I posted the picture the shed looked green it's not green it's like a grey color with white trim. I think it's because it was taken on my brother-in-law's phone and I took the picture with my camera. I'll attach the pictures for comparison.

The top 2 pictures are when it was bought and the bottom 2 pictures are after it was installed.

Evening ladies,

Wow Anita! That's fantastic that you and Josh both have annual Disney passes! How lovely of Josh's mom. I hadn't realised how close you lived to the park, lucky you. Is it expensive to park there? Cookie hasn't been to the vets again. As we decided against putting her through surgery, the vet doesn't need to see her again unless we have any concerns. We're keeping our fingers crossed she won't need to see him for a long time!

Crystal, I see what you mean about the photos of your dad's shed. I had thought it was green and white. Looks even better in its true, grey colour. Great news about your mom! Hopefully she'll be fully healed real soon.

I probably won't be on the forum tomorrow, as Tony's funeral is tomorrow morning.

Take care.

Rose.

Good Morning Ladies~

Is it Friday yet???

Actually .. I don't think I'm allowed to even ask that question anymore lol since there is NO weekend for me really. So my orientation for my 3rd job has actually been rescheduled for this evening! Kind of glad I didn't have to wait until Sunday I mean .. gosh ... they've made me wait a month after my hire date to start orientation? They almost wanted to reschedule me for September 28th, and I said really? You're going to make me wait 2 months past my hire date to start? Lol Ahhh I'm a bit nervous too~ haven't had 3 jobs since 10 years go. I'm sure it won't be anything that I won't be able to get used to quickly though. Hehe 🙂

Crystal, I'm so glad to hear that both of your mom's legs are improving! Hoping that her other leg will be completely better very soon ❤️ The photos of the shed looks great too! I did initially think it was greenish too, but I do like grey better! The colors look very pretty 🙂 Is the shed supposed to look unbalanced on the bottom? Or are you guys still working on finishing the installation? (Sorry, I have no experience whatsoever with sheds)

Rose, I hope Cookie won't have to see the vet in a very long time too! I also hope she will be able to gain some weight back 🙁 I'm not sure if changing to a higher quality food would help her though? I've heard a lot of good things about this brand called Ziwipeak. It's an air-dried raw food that is nutrient dense. I've only been able to find this brand at like super super pet specialty stores, not like your regular pet store. For us, Petco and Petsmart are like the Starbucks of pet food/supplies so they don't have them at those types of stores. Not sure what pet stores are in the UK~ But here's a link to help give you some more information 🙂 : https://www.ziwipets.com/catalog/ziwi-peak-cat-nutrition

Today should be a happy day because it should be a day that is celebrating Tony's life and accomplishments. I know that is easier said than done, but please try to keep your spirits up 🙂 Let us know if there's anything we could do to help~

Take Care,

~ Anita

Hello Everyone~

So I had an interesting thought that I'm hoping could help out some of us with multiple cats.

Let's talk cat litter 🙂

I had to go through so much trial and error to find one that works for my girls, and was wondering what everyone else uses. Below is a list of cat litter brands that just didn't seem to work for me:

1. Blue Buffalo Walnut Based Multi Cat Quick Clumping - Didn't clump as Promised, nor did it shield the odor. I was able to smell the litter box from our apartment doorway.
2. So Phresh Dual Odor Guard Multi Cat - Litter would clump, but would also start smelling like cat urine right away
3. So Phresh Light Weight Multi Cat - Litter would clump, but the litter would turn into this playdough-like texture that really grossed me out. Plus, cat urine odors would linger
4. So Phresh Crystal Litter Multi Cat - This one actually worked well, but the crystals would absorb the urine. This was non-clumping. But, what I didn't like about this was that the litter box would start smelling before I cleaned the litter box which I do every 2 weeks. By cleaning, I mean changing the litter and washing the litter box. The crystals got so moist with the urine that the bottom layer wouldn't absorb it anymore and there would be a thin film of urine at the bottom of the litter box which, as you guessed, stunk up the apartment.

The only litter that I've found to work best for us is:

1. Dr. Elsey's Ultra Multi-Cat Unscented Clay Litter - This litter is amazing! It clumps very well and shields odor as promised. Sometimes I get busy and don't clean the litter box for 2-3 days and the surrounding areas of the litter box are odor free. It does start to smell around the 2 week mark, which is fine because that's when I normally empty everything out and deep clean the litter box.

I use the buda dome litter box for my girls so they don't kick the litter everywhere, which has raised one question for me. They like to pee in one spot in the dome box, which is at the end rounded corner of the litter box. This doesn't help clump as well and collects lots of moisture in the rounded corner. I have to scrape the corner and then it will form into these loosely formed clumps with moisture. I hope this makes sense as I'm trying to explain it the best I can. But, are there any pointers on how to get hard clumps (or litter suggestions) in the litter box without having to worry about these urine soaked soft-ish clumps?

Thanks! 🙂

~ Anita

Hi Everyone,

Tony's funeral went as well as funerals can be. So many people came to say goodbye to him. The crematorium was packed. People were standing right at the back of the room. Just goes to show how greatly he was loved and respected. People even drove 3-4 hours here to say goodbye to him. Made me very proud to have been a part of such a wonderful man's life.

Anita, thanks for the information about the cat food for Cookie. I had a look, and it is available over here from a few places. It's extremely expensive though! We currently feed Applaws dry food with the odd Applaws wet food as a treat, which I think is quite similar in nutritional value. What do you think? Applaws Chicken with Extra Salmon It's considered to be a mid-high quality food here. As for cat litter, we use a clay clumping litter called Canada, made my Tigerino. It's the best litter we've found in terms of clumping, and as long as the cats bury their business, it's quite odour proof. We have 4 large litter boxes which have deep layers of litter, and are emptied daily by just scooping out the waste. We top up the litter as necessary, and do a full litter change and litter box clean around every 3 months.

Crystal, that's so cool that you're doing a blogging course! What a fantastic idea. I really enjoyed today's post. Looking forward to seeing what else you post during your course.

Sorry that my visits to the forum have been a bit random recently. I'm hoping I'll soon be back to every day posts.

Take care ladies.

Rose.

Hello Ladies~

Thanks for the input on kitty litter~ I've always been skeptical about Fresh Step. I did almost get the Multi-Cat Fresh Step last time, but opted for Dr. Elsey's instead. I've read mixed reviews on Fresh Step online and I know ~ shouldn't judge reviews before you try it yourself. *BUT* I was just getting really tired of trying different brands and having to throw the rest of it out because more than half the bag is gone already by the time I realize it's just not working for the girls. Why is it so much trickier to find a litter that works for multi-cat :'( I forget ... Crystal, do you have more than 1 cat, or is it just Daisy Mae?

Rose, I'm so happy Tony's funeral had a good impact on you and his family. I'm sure he was a great guy and I"m also sure he's happy looking down and seeing the impact he's made on other people throughout his lifetime. I hope it wasn't too hard on you or your mother .. or Si's family too for that matter. It's OK to cry and miss him, but more importantly to take what you've learned from him and pass it down to others, or show the same love and kindness to others. I know it's hard to enjoy crying, but it's healthy for you 🙂 I've heard of Applaws before and I was doing demos for Blue Buffalo when that brand was first introduced into Petco (pet store in the States ... not sure if you guys have that too?) and it's a pretty high end expensive ish brand. I've read the ingredients on there too and they don't seem bad. Yeah, the other one I mentioned is super expensive, but has a lot of protein in it and it's healthy. The dog trainer that mentioned the brand to me had a dog who was diabetic and could only eat that brand of food because most of the ingredients don't transform into sugar or something. The Canada brand of cat litter seems very interesting to me after looking it up online - it has almost 4-5 star reviews on all the ones I've seen and has 350% absorbency!!! That's so nice that you don't have to change it out for up to 4 months ... though, my girls share 1 litter box so I'm sure I'd still be changing it out more often than others. I would really like to try this one out some time though~

To all other cat lovers on the forum, which cat litters do you use - and are you a single cat or multi cat family? 🙂 Would love to see some more traffic in this chat room 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hope everyone is having a nice week so far!

~ Anita

Crystal, just checked out your post and love it! It is hard for some people to want to take a blogging course when it seems to be something that we wouldn't think to take a course for. I've read up on some books to give pointers before, but have never taken a course for it. Would love to see your progress in your blogging class and can't wait to see the new posts that are yet to come 🙂
