Happy Thanksgiving America!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Anita, have you redone your blog yet? Maybe it was Rose that was redoing their blog. Either way, let me know who was redoing their blog and what the new title will be if there will be a new title. Sorry I haven't been at the Forum lately but I haven't been feeling well and no I'm not better yet so I probably won't be blog-hopping or will be at the Forum until I'm feeling better. However, did you here I won the Trainable Cat book. It finally came yesterday. Looks interesting. Can't wait to read it. Now all 3 of us have won the book. Well just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving.
Arrgh!! So annoying! Just wrote out a reply, and as always not that short. Pressed reply, and got an error message! I think I may have been logged out of the forum whilst typing my reply. 😡
Anyway, hi sabelmorgan! 🤗 Nice to see you here in the "Le Chat" thread. I love the thanksgiving picture you posted 😂
I hope all USA friends and forum members had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 😀
It was my birthday Sunday, although I didn't really do anything. We'd been to a cat show the day before, so with that and the cold weekend we had, my fibromyalgia has flared up again. Always worth it though. Had a great time at the show, seeing friends and meeting new people. More importantly, the cats enjoyed it too! Onni just lapped up all the attention he got, as usual. He really seems to know how to attract the public, his pen is rarely free from visitors. I'm really pleased to say that Dewey is losing his nervousness too, and seemed happy enough at this show. In fact he was quite chilled after a few hours. As a bonus they came home with some good rosettes and certificates too. So proud of all our kitties. Here's Onni giving Si a quick cuddle at the show:
Sorry to hear you're still feeling unwell Crystal. Sending healing purrs from all 8 kitties. Yes, I had heard you'd won a copy of the Trainable Cat book too! How brilliant that all three of us have won such a great book! 😀
Well I'd better go. Pepper wants some fuss, and I'm struggling to type and stroke her at the same time.
Take care everyone.
Crystal, congrats again on the book! Really glad that all 3 of us were winners of the book giveaway 🙂 I still have yet to read it heh. I've been so behind on my personal reading, I'm reading my 4th book since I started my new job! It's so great going back to just having one job again - gives me so much more time to read and relax 🙂 I'm a member of Goodreads, not sure if you've heard of it. In the beginning of the year, they asked us to set a reading goal for ourselves for the year. My goal was 10 books, and I've already completed 8! So I'm really buckling down trying to get the last 2 in by the end of the year. My friend had set a goal of 70 I think, since she read close to 50 books last year, but we've been working on our projects for our Writer's Group, and she's been busy with that so I think she'll be close to her 50 mark again this year. Also, it was the blog site I have with my friend that will be changing. She just had relatives visiting the States from Ireland, and she just came back from Zion National Park with her husband for her birthday last weekend. I'm meeting her today so we'll see how that goes. We may or may not keep the Cassanita name for the site, but will let you know as soon as we make a decision! We're going to go through a few templates on how we want things done before we actually start making changes, so stay tuned! 🙂
Happy belated birthday, Rose! That's so great that Dewey and Onni are enjoying the shows a little bit more! Thanks for posting a photo of Onni and Si, I love Onni's face, so adorable!! Would love to see a photo of you and your cats ~ hehe 🙂 So, I had a question for you since you used the word "brilliant" and you're from the UK area. I just finished reading a book called "The Child" by Fiona Barton (great book by the way, if you're into mystery novels), and she uses the word "brilliant" like a million times throughout the entire novel. I've heard the word "brilliant" being used by a lot of British people, but is it really common for British people to use that word so often? It did drive me a little nuts when I was getting through the book, that everything was brilliant ha. Probably just a cultural thing, and something I'd have to get used to especially if I enjoy reading books from British authors 😛 I've also made a lot more progress on my novel! Hehe. But, I know how important/exciting it is to finish reading a novel or series that you love so much (I'm the same way). Can't wait to hear what you think about my piece so far 🙂
Last but not least, I wanted to welcome sabelmorgan to the forum and thread as well! Hope you'll enjoy it here! We talk about almost anything and everything in this forum, so feel free to chime in whenever you'd like 🙂
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with family and loved ones too!
Greetings all 😀
Good to hear from you Anita. I've still yet to read the trainable cat too, because of wanting to finish this series first! I was gifted another 2 cat books for my birthday waiting to be read too. 🙂 I must have signed up to goodreads at some time, although I don't really recall it. Whenever I start a new book on my kindle, I'm asked I'd I want to tell goodreads. I hope your meeting with your friend goes well, and you manage to decide something about where you want to go with your blog. Thanks for the birthday wishes 🙂 Onni has been loving going to the shows since his 2nd or 3rd one. He's getting clever now, and learning what to do to get attention from people when he wants it. He's also great with the judges, giving them the loving temperament they look for. We were a bit worried about Dewey though, as he was very nervy at his first two shows. A bit better at his third, then a lot better at his last one 😀 We would have stopped taking him if there was no improvement after the third. Doesn't matter how good a ragdoll he is, if he isn't happy. Thankfully though he was, even wanting fuss of the visitors. We don't allow that though, in case of germ contamination. But we've decided to take some alcohol hand wash, so if people do ask for a stroke they can. I'm one of those people who hates having their photo taken, so there aren't many of me and the cats. I'll have to see if I can find any. - Found one of me holding Onni at a show, and a collage of me holding Pepper as a kitten, and a year later. Also added two of my cattoos. The flowers on arm seen with Pepper, have now been merged into a full sleeve cattoo and flowers piece. Will get pics when healed well. That book does sound good, and is one of the genres I love to read. Thanks, I've added it to my wish list. 🙂 I think using the word brilliant a lot in Britain could be dependent on age and whereabouts in the country you are. We're only a small country, but a lot of areas have their own regionalisms . Thinking about it, I do use brilliant a lot. Possibly more than most people my age 😱 Oh dear! I'm really looking forward to reading your novel as it is so far. Trying to read as much as I can, so I get to it soon. Glad you understand about needing to get this series of books finished first.
Crystal, I hope you're starting to feel better. Healing purrs sent from all the kitties, and get well soon wishes and a hug sent from me. ❤️

Hope to be chatting to you soon. 😀
Take care everyone.
Ps The Jackson Galaxy giveaway is up and running. Three books to giveaway, but sadly to be sent to UK addresses only.
Thank you for the photos, Rose~ It's funny, I always imagined you to be a brunette hehe. Love that all of your photos are of you with your furr babies <3
Also, I absolutely love your cattoos! Your artist did a great job 🙂 There's so much personality in the cattoos and it definitely speaks louder than just that you love cats. Minus the flowers which are completely non-cat related hehe. I like the touch of color on those as well. All of my tatts are just black. I've heard stories about having to get color tatts touched up every so often and I'm just too lazy for that hahaha. Though, I'm sure in time, black ones fade too to a greenish color? I hope not any time soon. I got my tatts about 5~6 years ago and they still look great. Though, there is still one more that I've been wanting to get, but it's hard to budget for it since we have so many financial responsibilities now.
It's nice to be back on Katzenworld forum! New job is definitely a bit busier, so it's hard to check in on here as much as I used to. I'm so behind on writing that guest post that Marc asked me to about the 4catz toys and book that I won a few months back ha ha ha. I will get on it soon though!
Crystal, I hope you're feeling better! It's no fun having the cold and a lot of people are catching the bug lately due to the ever changing weather over here in Cali. We have the Santa Ana winds right now and it's so cold! Hope you're staying warm 🙂
Anita, isn't funny how we get an idea of how people look, and often it's nothing like how they actually look! 😀 I must admit that I do have highlights, I'm naturally a dark blonde/light brown depending on the season. I think the only time I get my photo taken is if a have a fur-baby with me, or at a family event. Lol. 😂 What are you like with having photos taken? You have a lovely one as your forum photo. Do you have any of you with S'mores and Oreo? Would love to see some if you do. 😀 I can't wait to get a good photo of my full cattoo based arm piece. That is full colour, but because it was a cover up too, it does have dark shading in the background. Although that looks good, and just makes the colour pop more. So I have one black and grey arm (the Bastet themed piece on most of my forearm, samurai on most of upper arm) and a full colour arm that covers front and back. The flower piece in the photo you saw has been incorporated into the arm piece. I got that piece originally to cover some scarring I have. Flowers were the best shape to use to disguise the scars, and it works well. Regarding your pieces, do you have photos? I love to see other people's tattoos. By the way, modern black ink doesn't turn green/blue in time like old ink does. At least that's what I was told by a tattooist around 15 years ago. Colour ink can need topping up. Depends on a number of things, such as your skin type, how well you take care of the piece, how well done it was. I have one more coverup I'd like to get done. It's on the same shoulder that my arm piece is. I think I've mentioned to you before that I have a feather on my lower neck, that has my Dad's ashes in the ink. I'm wondering if the coverup could have a cat playing with that feather? I love Mon Mon style cats too, so hopefully in that style. Will have to see what tattooist says, then raid savings again!
It's great to see you back on the forum again! Are you enjoying the new job, even though it's busier? When I was working I preferred to be busy - the day went by so much faster that way. I used to enjoy my job too, and often the days would go by in no time at all! I still have posts to write for Marc too 😕My health is so up and down lately though, I haven't been able to get anything finished. I'm still having problems related to the surgery I had back in summer, and I think that's messing my fibromyalgia up too. Going to GP on Fri, see if we can sort anything out.
Would love to see some more people participating in this thread. If anybody is reading this and thinking they'd like to join us in a conversation, please do. It doesn't have to be anything we're currently chatting about, this is an area to discuss anything (as you can see from my waffle). We'd love to hear from you. 😀
Take care everyone.
Hello Fellow Cat Lovers ~
Rose, I agree. Nothing is ever as we imagine haha, but it's fun to do so 🙂 I do that when I go to a new place too - be it work, friend's house, restaurant, I always like to imagine what it would look like. And, as you may have guessed, it never turns out looking how I thought it would haha. Sure, I'll email you over a few photos of my tatts! As far as taking photos, I don't like to take them as much because it just keeps reminding me of how much I need to lose weight and I keep putting it off ... haha. I love food too much! I think you're following my personal instagram too, right? I take photos mostly of food that I cook or when we go eat out. And of course, of S'mores and Oreo hehe. I don't have a lot of pictures of me with my cats 🙁 I'm in control of their instagram, so most of the time the photos have my boyfriend in them. He's not as crazy about taking photos of them with me as I am with them. He does have some on his phone though, but he never sends them to me .. ha. New job is going well! Learning a lot of new things, and I like that it stays busy. My last job was all dependent on my supervisor, so if he was busy I'd never have anything to do. I was soooo bored out of my mind! Any exciting plans for the Christmas Holiday? My company gives us the entire week off from Christmas Day through New Year's Day so that's very exciting for me! It will be considered as paid holiday ~ woohoo! My dad is returning from China on the 20th, so I'm really looking forward to spending a whole week with him 🙂 As far as my boyfriend and I, this Christmas will be a quiet one. He just lost his grandma last Saturday who raised him, so she was like a mom to him. He was the last to find out from his family that her health was completely deteriorating and so I surprised him with a plane ticket to fly out to Colorado to visit her while she still had some life in her. Unfortunately, during the wee hours of the morning he flew out, she had already passed in her sleep. This weekend we are flying him out there again as her last viewing will be next Monday so that he can get some closure and be with family during this difficult time. We're on a tight budget right now too, so we may only have each other for Christmas this year and skip the presents. I don't think presents are all that important really, especially when there are more important things to consider. He's doing a little better, just went back to work yesterday but he's still taking it very very hard. I am glad though, that I did get to meet her 2 years ago when I went to Colorado for the first time, and we went to visit her twice during that trip at the nursing home that she stayed at. Such a sweet and funny lady.
I second Rose in hoping that more people will chime in on our chats! We'd love to get to know all of you 🙂
Take Care! xoxo
Hi everyone! If there's anybody reading our comments, please do jump in at any point, you are very welcome to join us. 😀
Thanks for the email Anita, great to see your tattoos. By the way, you don't need to loose any weight at all looking at those photos. You're a beautiful young lady.
We're still not entirely sure as to what we'll be doing over Christmas. Like you though, it will be a quiet one as we come to terms with neither of our Dads being here now. I haven't asked Si what time he gets off work, but I think it will just be Christmas day and New year's Day unless he has booked time from his annual holiday leave. He works in a hospital, a maintenance engineer for the medical equipment. So they do need people to work over the holiday period. He tends to let the people with children take the holidays, because of course this time of year is all about family and children. I think we will be asking my mum to join us for Christmas day, and Si's mum too. Although Si's mum may prefer to go to his sister's, so she can be with some of the grandchildren. So sorry about your boyfriend's loss. Please give him a hug from me. I didn't see my Dad before he passed, and I do struggle with that still if I'm honest. He passed in 2014. I hope your boyfriend copes better than I did. My thoughts are with you both. I'll leave it there today. You take care of him Anita, and take care of yourself too.
