If you want a good pet for you and/or children, think about adopting a cat. A cat is easy to take care of and make sure you get your cat spayed/neutered. Don't want any unexpected vet bills popping up. Get educated before adopting or getting a pet.

June is cat adoption month so if you want a pet cat or kitten Adopt before buying.

Hello Forum Friends~

I just wanted to add a reminder in addition to Crystal's post for first time cat owners, like myself. My girls S'mores & Oreo are strictly indoor cats, so I didn't think it was necessary to buy flea medication for them. We've had them for 6 months now, and found a bunch of fleas underneath their collars last week. We gave them flea treatment baths, as well as applied flea medication on them and they seem to be doing much better. Luckily we found out early and they hadn't showed any signs of scratching before or after we found the fleas. If you live in warmer areas (i.e. carpeted apartments, 2nd floor apartments, or warmer climate), please don't disregard flea treatment and flea prevention baths. Otherwise the problem may become bigger! Flea medication should be applied monthly ~ Something I wish I knew sooner, but better late than never 🙂

I'd like to just add too, please don't be put off adopting a disabled cat. I have a tri-pawed girl, who had her front left leg amputated. She still acts pretty much like my other cats. She can use a cat flap, climb a tree, get over our fence etc. It's amazing how they cope! 😃

Rose.

I've been working at Petsmart on weekends doing demos for Wellness Pet Food, and I have the pleasure of visiting the cat adoptions at each of the 2 stores that I visit. There is this sweet boy who was born with lazy leg syndrome, but it doesn't stop him from running around or being like all the other cats.

I know it's not June anymore, but I think it's important to everyone who's interested in adopting cats to look beyond their physical aspects/attractiveness. All pets like humans deserve to be treated and loved the same
